Reader, writer, Melburnian, 20-something, gin-drinker, Bowie nut, movie-lover, vintage fan, absurdist, aesthete.
I’ve reviewed books for newspapers like the Australian and the Sydney Morning Herald, and for journals and websites around the world. I write book features semi-regularly for The Big Issue. I blogged for three years on literature for Crikey. LiteraryMinded has been running since May 2007, at an average of two posts per week up until 2013, when I deliberately decided to post more sporadically in order to expand my (literary) horizons.
I have a chapbook of flash fiction coming out with Inkerman & Blunt in early 2014, and I’m currently editing an anthology of creepy stories for Spineless Wonders.
I’m completing a Doctor of Creative Arts within the Writing and Society Research Centre at the University of Western Sydney. The novel that I’m writing as part of my thesis was longlisted for the Mslexia Women’s Novel Competition (UK) in late 2011. I was also Highly Commended in the Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards (Written Word category) in 2012.
