Nice to read your review of ‘A Common Loss’. Kirsten is a very interesting writer, I think.
Cheers, Lisa. She certainly is. Can’t wait to read more from her.
Angela, you were missed at the Willi Lit Festival today! I attended your blogging workshop there last year and really enjoyed it.
That is so sweet, thank you! I actually went to Clunes Booktown, as I’d never been before! It’s a great little fair/festival. But I do love going to Willy, perhaps next year. Hope you enjoyed yourself.
Thanks, the Willy Lit Fest has been fun. Great to hear Hilary Bonney & Kerry Greenwood chatting about the journey from book to screen. Clunes sounds like fun. I hope the two events are scheduled on different weekends next year!
I saw you in the “Novel” discussion yesterday at the EWF. I waited behind to talk (probably looked like that stalker you remember), but you kept talking to others and walking off. 😦
Oh well. I tried. Hope you had a good day.
Rebecca
Oh! Sorry, I didn’t see you! Was chatting to my friend Robyne and was trying to rush off to my friend who was waiting downstairs. Sometimes I put my head down and just walk because I know too many people and I could end up talking all day. But I honestly didn’t notice anyone waiting. So sorry! Hopefully next time. Just yell out ‘Angela!’ 🙂
When I heard you ask Emily a question, I thought, “I know her! That’s Angela from Literary Minded!” I was going to walk off but I made myself stay. I finally convinced myself it was you. If it wasn’t I wouldn’t see you again anyway. I waited a bit and then when you kept moving on I figured I better move on in case it actually wasn’t you. Bahaha
I’m going to the pitch. You going back this year?
I’ll be at tomorrow night’s events (critics + Tweetfilm) and I’m running an event on Wed at 9pm at Rue Bebelons, about short stories. You should come! I’ll also be at the book launch.
Hi Angela,
It’s great to find another Aussie writer! Awesome.
I am gladly following and will be looking forward to your upcoming posts..
Have a lovely day! 🙂
Subhan Zein
Hi Subhan, lovely to ‘meet’ you! Thanks for reading.
Impressive resume Angela! I really enjoy reading your reviews and discoveries of Australian literature. I’ve landed in Melbourne a few months ago and it really helps to follow someone who knows her subject that well! I’m fond of literature in general but since I live in this wonderful country, I’ve decided to promote Australian literature to French people (http://lekoalalit.wordpress.com). Hope I can get my little blog to be as good as yours!
Cheers!
Angélique
Hi Angélique! Wow, I’m so glad a blog like yours exists. Unfortunately at this stage I can only read it through a Google translator. I’ve been to France twice and I’d love to properly learn French one day and be able to read Camus in the original language. I’d love to learn German someday too. Thank you for promoting Australian literature to a French audience. If I can ever help with anything, let me know. Angela
You’re right, reading an author in his native language is a different experience! Thanks for you enthousiasm! Angelique
